This shooter is named for Oklahoma City's own, Flaming Lips. Many people suggested a Bloody Mary with lots of Tabasco as their shot. Naw.
Flaming Lips
- 1 small box of Strawberry-Kiwi or Strawberry Jell-O
- 1 Cup hot water
- 1/3 Cup water
- 1/4 Cup Vodka
- 1/4 Cup Cinnamon Schnapps
- 2 Tablespoons Midori Melon Liqueur
- STIR boiling water into Strawberry-Kiwi gelatine until completely dissolved.
- ADD the cold water, Vodka, Cinnamon Schnapps, Midori and stir until mixed.
- POUR into 2-3 oz.(60-90 ml) cups.
- REFRIGERATE until firm.
I drink a lot when listening to the Flaming Lips. Actually, I just drink a lot, okay?
Brainville
- 1 small box of Berry Blue Jell-O
- 1 Cup hot water
- 1/2 Cup water
- 1/4 Cup Gin
- 3 Tablespoons Peppermint Schnapps
- 1 Tablespoon Triple Sec
- STIR boiling water into Berry Blue gelatine until completely dissolved.
- ADD the cold water, Gin, Schnapps, and Triple Sec and stir until mixed.
- POUR into 2-3 oz.(60-90 ml) cups.
- REFRIGERATE until firm.
Everytime I drive by the Oklahoma City Zoo, I think of this particular Flaming Lips song.
Christmas At The Zoo
- 1 small box of Cranberry Jell-O
- 1 Cup hot water
- 1/3 Cup Orange Juice
- 1/3 Cup Rum
- 3 Tablespoons Whiskey
- 2 Tablespoons Brandy
- STIR boiling water into cranberry gelatine until completely dissolved.
- ADD the orange juice, Rum, Whiskey, Brandy and stir until mixed.
- POUR into 2-3 oz.(60-90 ml) cups.
- REFRIGERATE until firm.
I'm going through an obsession with clear jell-o shooters. I dunno know why. Maybe I think it's cool to be able to see through a gravity defying drink shimmering and wiggling between my fingers. Or maybe I'm just plain weird like Flaming Lips fans are suppose to be. Whatever.
Drug Machine In Heaven
- 1 packet of Knox Gelatine
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup hot water
- 1/2 Cup Zima
- 1/3 Cup Vodka
- 3 tablespoons Midori Melon Liqueur
- STIR boiling water into Knox gelatine and sugar until completely dissolved.
- ADD Zima, Vodka and stir until mixed.
- POUR into 2-3 oz.(60-90 ml) cups.
- DROP using an eyedropper the 3 tablespoons of Midori, putting several drops into each cup. If you let the gelatine partially set, it might create a swirled effect.
- REFRIGERATE until firm.

In A Priest Driven Ambulance
- 1 small Packet of Knox gelatine
- 1 Cup hot coffee
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 Cup water
- 1/3 Cup Frangelico
- 2 Tablespoons Triple Sec
- STIR hot coffee into sugar and gelatine until completely dissolved.
- ADD the cold water, Frangelico, and Triple Sec and stir until mixed.
- POUR into 2-3 oz.(60-90 ml) cups.
- REFRIGERATE until firm.

- STIR boiling water into pineapple gelatine until completely dissolved.
- ADD Whiskey, Vermouth, and Lemon Juice and stir until mixed.

- 1 Cup hot water or hot tea
- 1/2 Cup ice tea
- 1/3 Cup Gin

- STIR boiling water, or hot tea, into gelatine until completely dissolved.
- ADD the ice tea, Gin, Triple Sec and stir until mixed.
- POUR into 2-3 oz.(60-90 ml) cups.

- 1 small box of Sparkling Grape Jell-O
- 1 Cup hot water
- 1/2 Cup water
- 1/4 Cup Gin
- 2 Tablespoons Triple Sec
- 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- STIR boiling water into Sparkling Grape gelatine until completely dissolved.
- ADD the cold water, Gin, Triple Sec, and Lemon juice and stir until mixed.
- POUR into 2-3 oz.(60-90 ml) cups.
- REFRIGERATE until firm.
It was bad enough when I thought of Flaming Lips songs as different alcohols. Now I visualize them as various flavors of jell-o. Oh god. Next thing you know I will be playing 4 cds at once or something...
Unconsciously Screamin'
- 1 large box of Grape Jell-O
- 1 small box of Lemon Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
- 1 Cup hot water
- 1/2 cold water
- 1/4 Cup Tequila
- 1/4 Cup Triple Sec
- 1 Cup Milk
- STIR boiling water into grape gelatine until completely dissolved.
- ADD the cold water, Tequila, Triple Sec and stir until mixed. Cool at room temperature about 20-30 mins.
- POUR milk into a separate container. Add the box of pudding and mix until completely blended.
- QUICKLY STIR the pudding into the jell-o until well blended. It should appear quite opaque.
- POUR into 2-3 oz.(60-90 ml) cups.
- REFRIGERATE until firm
